Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Mixed (short coat). Betsy is a hug in fluffy pillow form, her coat is thick and soft like a corgi. You may notice in pictures that someone gave her a horrible haircut...seriously, it’s horrible- but it’s growing back! Betsy is "president of the local relocation society" so get ready to find anything you put down, in a different location! She likes squeaky babies, treats, and belly rubs. She loves to catapult herself onto you, the couch or bed and wiggle for attention. She knows "sit, off, leave it" and maybe other commands we've yet to discover. Betsy has the gift of puppy energy without any puppy destruction or potty accidents. She is working on gentle paws and appropriate social distancing when excited and doing an awesome job. She's approximately 1 year old and 20 lbs. We've listed her as a Corgi mix, but that is just our worst guess. We'd love to see what her DNA says! Does Betsy sound like a perfect addition to your home? Applying is the first step to meet her - APPLICATION (See our Dog Adoption FAQs before applying)

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
