Description
Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Approx. DOB: 8/23/25 Approx Weight: 16 Lbs Adoption Fee: $300 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Snoopy — a happy, affectionate little guy with endless puppy energy and a heart full of love! We believe Snoopy is a Jack Russell Terrier mix, and true to the breed, he is smart, active, athletic, and always ready for fun. His favorite things include giving kisses, playing with other dogs, and zooming around the yard at top speed! Snoopy is still very much a puppy and is learning his manners and basic routines. He would thrive with an active family that can continue his training and give him plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. A home with another playful dog would be a huge plus since he loves canine companionship and learns well from other dogs. Because Snoopy is incredibly fast and can jump surprisingly high, a secure fenced yard is a must for this adventurous boy. He loves to run and explore, and he’ll need a family committed to keeping him safe and active. Snoopy gets along great with other dogs, but he is very interested in chasing cats, so a cat-free home — or one with a very dog-savvy, confident cat — would likely be the best fit. Snoopy is working on his house-breaking skills. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, high-energy companion who will keep you laughing and shower you with kisses, Snoopy may be your perfect match! I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at .furrykidsrefuge/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Breed overview
Overview:
The Jackshund is a delightful and energetic hybrid, a charming cross between the tenacious Dachshund and the spirited Jack Russell Terrier. Originating from designer breed popularity, these dogs inherit a unique blend of traits from both parents. Physically, they typically possess a compact build, often with the Dachshund's longer body and shorter legs, coupled with the Jack Russell's alert expression and sometimes wiry coat, though smooth coats are also common. Their temperament is generally described as playful, intelligent, and affectionate, often exhibiting a keen hunting instinct and a courageous streak. While they can be wonderful family pets, their energetic nature means they thrive with consistent training and ample exercise, making them potentially suitable for apartment living if their daily activity needs are met. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health considerations common to their parent breeds, such as intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) due to their elongated spine, and certain eye conditions or patellar luxation, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
