Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Meet Gator, an angel face with the heart of an adventurer! This fearless pup takes about two seconds to warm up before he's ready to conquer the world. Whether he's racing up the stairs, bravely investigating a mighty leaf blower, or taking on a giant sprinkler, Gator approaches every new experience with confidence and curiosity. Not only is he incredibly brave, but he's also one of the sweetest puppies you'll ever meet. Gator loves people, and if you get your face too close, prepare for an adorable attack of puppy kisses! Equal parts cuddle bug and explorer, you'll often find him splooted on the floor like a little frog, happily recharging between snuggles and his next big adventure. One of the smaller pups in his litter of 11, Gator is already an impressive 19 pounds at just 11 weeks old. His foster mom estimates he'll grow to around 45 pounds, making him the perfect medium-sized companion for adventures big and small. Like any growing puppy, he'll benefit from continued training and guidance as he matures, and with his eagerness to learn and people-loving personality, he's off to a fantastic start. With a mix of German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Pit Bull, and Chow, he's got the intelligence and loyalty to become an incredible lifelong companion. Gator is doing great with potty training and is already crate trained. He lives with dogs of all ages and sizes, as well as a four-year-old child, and gets along beautifully with everyone. He takes corrections from his older foster siblings like a champ and is always ready to make new friends. While he hasn't been tested with cats, this playful, affectionate, and highly trainable pup is ready to bring endless love, laughter, and adventures to his forever family. Ready to meet him? Breed overview
Overview:
The Shepweiller, a robust crossbreed stemming from the German Shepherd Dog and the Rottweiler, originated from the desire to combine the intelligence and trainability of the former with the strength and loyalty of the latter. Physically, they are large, powerful dogs, typically boasting a dense, short to medium coat in black and tan, or solid black. Their temperament is generally confident, protective, and intelligent, making them excellent guard dogs and loyal companions. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strong will and protective instincts. While incredibly devoted to their families, their size and exercise needs make them less suitable for small apartments; a home with a fenced yard is ideal. As with many large breeds, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, and they may be prone to certain cancers, so regular veterinary check-ups are important for their long-term well-being.
