Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $400. Online Adoption Application › Hello world! My wonderful mom Hallie was rescued from Lee County shelter hours before we were born. I heard humans saying she is a "medium size dog", whatever that means. We are ready to show the world how cure we are and find families of our own. Some of my siblings have now gone off to their forever homes but I am still waiting on mine. I am one of the bigger girls in my litter but I get along with kittens & cats, Large and small dogs and have lived with kids 7+. The puppy adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the future spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
