Description
Dog Breed: Silky Terrier. Meet Don Francisco! Don Francisco is a professional toy collector, backyard zoomie champion, and self-appointed babysitter to his best friend… a 3-pound puppy who he somehow makes his equal match in wresting. He loves dogs of all sizes and has never met a playmate he didn’t immediately want to become besties with. This handsome little goofball spends his days supervising outdoor activities, showing off his adorable underbite like it’s his best feature (because honestly… it is), perfecting his soccer kills, and convincing everyone around him that life should mostly consist of toys, snacks, and couch cuddles. While he’s always down for a good play session, Don Francisco is equally committed to his second passion: aggressively relaxing next to his people on the couch like he pays the bills. If you’re looking for a happy, goofy sidekick with permanent cartoon-character energy and a smile that could win over literally anyone, Don Francisco is ready to move in and run your household immediately. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Don Francisco is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT DON FRANCISCO!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Overview:
The Silky Terrier is a charming and spirited companion, originating in Australia in the late 19th century. Bred from the Yorkshire and Australian Terriers, they were developed to be versatile pets, suitable for both companionship and pest control. Physically, Silkys are small, elegant dogs, typically weighing between 8-10 pounds, distinguished by their long, flowing, steel-blue and tan coat that is remarkably soft to the touch – hence their name. Beneath this beautiful coat lies a sturdy and agile body. Temperamentally, they are known for being alert, confident, and intelligent, possessing a typical terrier zest for life. Despite their small size, they are quite active and enjoy playtime, but also relish curling up for a cuddle. Their adaptable nature makes them suitable for various living situations, including apartment living, provided they receive regular exercise and mental stimulation. They can be good with respectful children and other pets, though early socialization is key. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as patellar luxation and dental issues. With proper care and training, a Silky Terrier makes a delightful and devoted family member.
