Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Ginger! Ginger is a 3-year-old mixed breed with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. She came from a very difficult backyard situation, so the world is still a little new and scary to her—but every day she’s learning that people can be kind and life can be good. One thing Ginger knows for sure is that she loves other dogs. She’s almost always cuddled up with one of her friends, whether it’s Brandy and Susie, her favorite snuggle buddies, or Panda, who keeps her entertained during playtime. And according to her foster friends, she may even have a little crush on Angus. Because she gains confidence from other dogs, Ginger would do best in a home with a friendly canine companion who can help show her the ropes and teach her what life as a loved indoor dog is all about. She’s a medium-sized girl at around 40 pounds and is still shy with people, but she’s making progress and especially enjoys treats from the volunteers who spend time with her. Ginger is looking for a patient, understanding family willing to give her the time and love she needs to truly blossom. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Ginger is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT GINGER!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
