Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Nyla! Nyla is the kind of dog who steals your heart almost instantly. She’s sweet, affectionate, smart, and full of happy energy. Whether she’s playing, learning something new, or curled up next to you for snuggles, Nyla is happiest being close to her people. She’s a quick learner, uses a doggie door like a pro, and weighs about 40 pounds — the perfect medium-sized companion for both adventures and couch time. Nyla is currently being treated for a mild case of heartworms, and her prognosis is excellent. Through it all, she’s remained loving, playful, and full of life. This special girl is ready to find a forever home that will love her as much as she’ll love them. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Nyla is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT NYLA!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
