Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Pomeranian / Mixed (medium coat). Precious will be in NJ on 5/30 Meet Precious — and oh, is she ever living up to her name. Precious came from a home where she spent much of her time in a covered crate. Not because she’s aggressive—quite the opposite. She’s a gentle, sensitive soul who was simply scared of the world around her. But here’s the beautiful part…she’s learning what it means to feel safe. At first, coming into the house at night was a big, scary step. Now? She sleeps with her foster family. And every day, her personality shines a little brighter. She’s playful, happy, and absolutely loves being outside soaking up the fresh air. Precious gets along wonderfully with the other dogs and has found her own quirky little comfort zone—she LOVES lounging on top of her crate. She has a special perch with a soft pad and blanket, and she couldn’t be more content. She also enjoys being brushed (spa day, anyone?) and all of her mats have been gently taken care of, so she’s feeling as good as she looks. What Precious needs now is a patient, loving home that will continue to show her the world isn’t so scary after all. In return, you’ll get the sweetest companion with the happiest little spirit. Ready to give this girl the life she deserves? She is up to date on her vaccines and is altered. Her adoption donation is $450. - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! More About Chiranian BreedOverview:
The Chiranian, also affectionately known as a "Pomchi," is a charming hybrid breed resulting from the cross between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the desirable traits of both parents, this small companion dog typically inherits a compact size, usually weighing between 4-10 pounds. Their physical appearance can vary, often featuring the long, soft coat of a Pomeranian in various colors, coupled with the alert, expressive eyes of a Chihuahua. Temperamentally, Chiranians are generally affectionate, lively, and intelligent, though they can exhibit a "big dog" personality in a small package, sometimes prone to being vocal. They are highly adaptable, making them an excellent choice for apartment living and can be suitable for families with older, respectful children. Health-wise, like many small breeds, they can be prone to dental issues, luxating patellas, and tracheal collapse, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long, happy life.
