Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat). NJ Meet Macy, a tiny girl with a big heart who is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. She is currently in NJ. This adorable Pomeranian mix spent much of her life living a very sheltered existence, so it's no surprise that new sights, sounds, and experiences can still feel overwhelming to her. Macy isn't aggressive in the slightest—she's simply a sensitive soul who needs a little extra time, patience, and understanding as she builds confidence. And when she feels comfortable? Her playful, silly side comes shining through. Macy loves her toys, enjoys chewing on bones, and will happily entertain herself (and keep you laughing) if a baseball cap or shoe gets left within reach. She loves spending time outside and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. Macy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine companion to help show her the ropes. She's also cat-friendly and has done well with her foster family's dog-savvy cat. Because the outside world can still be a little scary, Macy will need a patient adopter committed to continuing her confidence-building journey. She is making progress with leash walking but will need gentle, slow introductions to new experiences and careful handling, including the use of both a harness and collar for added security. Macy is looking for a calm, loving home that will celebrate the little victories with her and allow her to blossom at her own pace. In return, you'll gain a sweet, loyal companion whose trust and affection are truly special. Macy is up to date on her vaccines, spayed, and ready to find her forever family. Her adoption donation is $500. - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Dameranian, a captivating designer breed, emerges from the delightful cross between a Dachshund and a Pomeranian. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, these charming canines typically boast a varied appearance, often inheriting the Dachshund's longer body and the Pomeranian's fluffy double coat, which can come in a multitude of colors. Their size is generally small, making them well-suited for apartment living, though they still enjoy regular walks and playtime. Temperamentally, Dameranians are known for being affectionate, intelligent, and often quite playful, making them wonderful companions for individuals and families with older children. Early socialization and training are beneficial to harness their potential for stubbornness. Regarding health, they may be prone to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation or intervertebral disc disease, so responsible breeding practices and regular vet check-ups are essential for a long and healthy life.
