Description
Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Mixed (medium coat). Ty is the kind of dog who reminds you that the simple things in life are often the best. This handsome Jack Russell mix is friendly, affectionate, and happiest when he's spending quality time with people. Ty walks nicely on a leash and enjoys taking his time to explore the world around him. He has a low to medium energy level and would much rather stay close by your side soaking up attention than spend all day chasing toys. While he'll happily investigate a toy you toss his way, what he really wants is your company. When Ty is looking for a little extra love, he'll gently put his front paws on you to ask for attention. Once the petting starts, he's all in - especially if belly rubs are involved! He'll sometimes roll right over and whine if you dare stop before he's had enough. Ty takes treats gently from your hand and has a calm, easygoing nature. He hasn't mastered any tricks yet, but he's already perfected the art of being a sweet pea. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate friend who will happily trade toys for cuddles, Ty may be the perfect match for you.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
