Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Nougat and her sisters were born under a storage container out in the desert. Their parents are partially feral and frequented this property. Mama did such a good job feeding the puppies, but they needed to be given a chance to live in a loving home. These girls are about 10 weeks old now, and ready to start their next chapter in loving homes of their own. Nougat is our spicy girl who is always ready to play and get up to trouble. She is a water lover and we can’t keep her from playing in their water bowls! Nougat is also the biggest pup of the group. Puppies will be met by APPOINTMENT ONLY! If you are interested in meeting them, please fill out our FULL APPLICATION (.sbacc/dog-adoption-application/) and wait for the adoption committee to give you a call to go over your app and schedule an appointment. They will not be shown to walk ins, this is to protect their health. Thank you for your understanding!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
