Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Meet Milo, a FLAT COATED RETRIEVER/GOLDEN RETRIEVER With his petite face & wavy ears, everybody melts when they meet him! Milo has a sweet and calm demeanor and spent his early weeks cozied up on laps for hours of naps. His battimes are as peaceful as can be! He is one of the smaller ones of his litter and often needs his own private little food bowl since his siblings would squeeze him out of the group bowl. Milo was known as "Green" upon birth when he was given a green collar and this sweet little darling has a remarkable story we can't wait to share with you BORN IN RESCUE! What does that mean? A local family had the exciting experience of assisting with a homebirth of this litter on 3/31/26. Why is that awesome? We know a definite date of birth and that this pup was handled with loving care from the moment of being born. Every bath, every playful interaction, every moment has known safety and has been raised with gentle and respectful older children. All 6 siblings were kept together for important bonding, learning bite control during play, and were nursed naturally by their gentle giant of a momma for a full 6 weeks. They received the very best nutrition and start in life which is such an advantage over many of the puppies out there today. All the pups in the litter were born darker in color which came as a surprise as the momma is the sweetest Golden Retriever on the planet! [Dad is of unknown breed, so we use our best guess.] If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
