Description
Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). At 12 weeks, Skye is still growing and needs a safe and puppy proofed environment with a designated play area, comfortable bedding, and regular feeding times. She enjoys short walks, fetch, and interactive play. Her new family should focus on early socialization and basic obedience to prepare her for a happy, active life. Skye is a very beautiful girl with one blue eye and one brownish/green eye, she has a gorgeous thick double coat, and Arctic-inspired spirit make her a striking companion. She’s intelligent, curious, and loves the outdoors, making her ideal for an active household. Beneath her energetic exterior lies a gentle, affectionate soul that brings warmth and laughter wherever she goes. Skye is more than a dog — she will be a spirited, loyal, and loving member for the right family, ready to grow into a confident, well-trained Husky who will keep her family showered in love for years to come. If you are interested in adopting an NBSR puppy, please Request an Adoption Application by emailing JulieNewBeginningsRescue or MurphyNewBeginningsRescue New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue is a volunteer based rescue, we work very hard to help as many adoptable GSDs as possible. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters across the country, so sadly we do not have any background information on them.....but we work very hard to get to know each and every dog brought into our program in need of a new beginning in their lives. We do not take animals with aggression problems (some may not like other dogs, cats, or may require older kids as opposed to younger children, but we will let you know everything that we know) most of these beautiful dogs have been faithful and loving family pets for their entire lives, yet still have lost their homes and families through no fault of their own. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to one of these amazing dogs please fill out our adoption application at .newbeginningsrescue/adoption-application and we will get back in touch after we get it processed. If you don't hear from us in 3 days, please send us a gentle reminder and one of us will get right on it. Please indicate the dog you are interested in meeting, where it says preference on the application! You may also email julienewbeginningsrescue , we are always happy to answer any questions you may have. If you give them your heart, they will give you theirs.

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
