Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Meet Callie! A playful, loving, and bouncy girl with a huge heart and an endless zest for life! Callie is full of affection and loves being close to her people, earning her the title of ultimate “velcro dog.” If you’re looking for a companion who will happily curl up in your lap and follow you everywhere, Callie is your girl. She’s young, energetic, and always ready for fun, whether that’s playtime in the yard, going for walks, or simply soaking up attention and cuddles. Callie gets along with most dogs, though she can be selective at times, so proper introductions are best. With her joyful personality and loving nature, Callie is sure to bring laughter, companionship, and lots of tail wags to her forever home! All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
