Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. We rescued Thunder from the Tulsa, OK animal shelter about 3 years ago. My wife recently passed away and I moved to an apartment in KCMO with Thunder. After getting so used to us being around all day, it simply isn't right that he should be cooped-up by himself all day while I look to be going back to work. I can't put him through another animal shelter experience after rescuing him from one. He's such a lover and cracks me up. He's housebroken, knows the basics (sit, stay, gimme paw, etc), does well with kids, and is current on all his shots. **** Breed: Pit Bull Border Collie **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198029&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
