Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. _________ B I O ______________ Name: Blue Ribbon Size: (Once fully grown) ~Large range: 61-100 lbs Adoption Donation: $250 (applicable sales tax included) PLUS a $100 deposit is required and is to be refunded once proof of spay/neuter is provided to this rescue. Our adoption contract requires all dogs to be spayed/neutered within ONE Month of adoption or when age-appropriate. Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check. Other: Intact Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip Puppies generally need the following veterinary care after their adoption: 8 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella Vaccinations. 4 Luv of Dog Rescue completes these vaccinations before adoption. 12 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo Vaccination completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice. 16 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Rabies Vaccinations completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice. 6 Months: Spay/Neuter surgery. ** Yearly thereafter: All dogs need yearly wellness exams performed by a veterinarian as well as booster vaccinations. **Spay/Neuter surgeries cost between $200-$400 for a neuter surgery and $400-$600 for a spay surgery in the FM Area. Wellness visits can run from $75 to $150 for each visit. If you are thinking of adopting a puppy, it's a good idea to research these costs before adopting by calling the veterinarian of your choice. ** Blue Ribbon has an umbilical hernia. If it is present at the time of the spay it will need to be repaired at the adopters expense. It will likely add about an additional $80-$100 to the cost of the spay, depending on the vet clinic. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
