Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. For Phoebe, Central Perk will always have a special place in her heart, but she has moved of the orange sofa to find a family that will give her the tender loving care she dreams and sings about. Phoebe is a Terrier Mix about 1 year old and 31 pounds. She is a medium sized gal that is ready to dance to her own beat to bring love and joy into the lives of her forever family. Phoebe often sings the praises of her friends. She is shy at first but will warm up quickly with proper introductions. For her, friends come in all different forms such as other dogs, children of all ages and adults. She has not met a cat since coming into rescue, so we do not know, at this point, if she perceives all cats as smelly just like her song Smelly Cat. She is a sweet girl who is looking for her chance to prove herself to be an awesome canine companion. She is working hard on her skills of house, crate and leash training. She knows her family will provide support and direction so she can learn her skill set and reach the ranks of expert. Pheobe is unique in her own right. She longs to live a loving and carefree life with her family. She also would not object to her family having an orange sofa for her to snuggle on. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Phoebe is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
