This Alabama girl started out shy and timid but is starting to warm up as she decompresses. So far she enjoys playing with other dogs, playing with toys, and seeking affection from her people. She has just begun the potty training process and will need an adopter to continue that along with whatever routine they stick with. Zelda is currently not a fan of her kennel, but after letting us know her dissatisfaction for a bit she quiets down and sleeps quietly. She is just a baby and still learning the ropes of being a family dog in this game called life. Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc. Is an all foster based 501c3 rescue. License #487823. Meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. An approved application does not mean you must adopt the dog of interest, if it isn't a good fit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
