Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Meet Honey, a beautiful Boxer mix estimated to be 7 years old and weighing approximately 70 pounds. Honey is an incredibly sweet and loving girl who absolutely adores people and has been described as phenomenal with children of all ages, including young kids and infants. She is housebroken, crate trained, and well accustomed to living in a home environment where she can relax with her family and enjoy being part of daily life. Honey has a gentle and affectionate personality and would thrive in a home looking for a loyal companion to shower with love. She can be a little timid around other dogs and does tend to chase small animals, so a home that can help her feel comfortable and set her up for success would be ideal. Honey also has a curious nature and should be monitored while outdoors to ensure she stays safe and secure while exploring her surroundings. Honey is currently in foster care and requires an approved online adoption application prior to meeting her. Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her rabies vaccine and basic boosters, and she is heartworm negative. If you are interested in giving Honey the loving home she deserves, please submit an adoption application through rockwalladoptions/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email infoRockwallAdoptions. Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
