Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Hope Rescues is all volunteer, all visits must be scheduled you may do that by filling out an online application as that is needed for a visit. You can find an application our website. Our adoption fee is $275.00 which includes Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, current heart worm test, DHPP booster, Bordetella vaccine, Microchip, Worming. He’s active, playful, and loves to cuddle once he knows you’re part of his circle. Like many Chihuahuas, Jasper can be shy and a little nippy at first meeting, but he rebounds quickly—especially if you come prepared with soft, high‑value treats. Win his trust, and you’ll have a loyal little shadow. Jasper enjoys the company of other dogs, and he’s happy to romp and play with friends his size. We’re not sure how he feels about cats yet. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion who just needs a gentle introduction and a few tasty snacks to feel safe, Jasper might be your perfect match. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
