He would love to be an “only child” or share a home with a respectful, playful dog who doesn’t mind the fact that Duke doesn’t like to share his food or crate. Duke is potty trained and crate trained, though he’ll give a sad little howl when you leave — just his way of saying he’ll miss you. He settles fine once you’re gone. Because he doesn’t like sharing his food, he prefers to eat in his crate with the door closed, where he can enjoy his meals in peace. He has wonderful play manners, gets along with all dogs, and loves his daily walks. He uses a harness beautifully and enjoys keeping his mind active with exercise and stimulation. He does need a fenced yard where he can safely run, explore, and chase the occasional squirrel.
