Dog Breed: Husky / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Dawn is a sweet and gentle soul who is ready to bloom in a loving home of her own. Dawn came to us after being surrendered due to there being too many dogs in her previous home. Despite the big changes in her life, she has remained incredibly loving and eager to connect with the people around her. This lovely girl has a soft, submissive personality and may take a little time to warm up to new people. She wants so badly to be everyone’s friend—she just appreciates the chance to go at her own pace. With patience, kindness, and a little reassurance, Dawn quickly shows her affectionate side and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. Dawn arrived with her sister, Dune, who has since been adopted. The two were good buddies and remained housed together at the shelter for comfort and support during such a difficult transition. While we know Dawn misses her sister, she has continued to show us just how resilient and loving she is. Dawn enjoys the company of other dogs and has a friendly, playful demeanor with her canine friends. She seems to thrive with a buddy around, we’re always happy to arrange a dog meet-and-greet prior to adoption if needed! As she’s still learning about the world, Dawn will do best with a patient family who can help build her confidence and give her time to adjust to her new surroundings. She’s already learned how to walk on a leash and is making wonderful progress, though she would benefit from a bit more structure and continued guidance. She’s also discovering the joys of toys! While she’s still figuring out exactly what she likes, stuffies and stuffed Kongs have quickly become her favorites. Dawn will be happiest with plenty of positive outlets for her energy, lots of quality time with her people, and a family who celebrates all the little victories along the way. Dawn is truly an incredible girlie with so much love to give. We can’t wait to see her find the forever family that she deserves!
