Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: $400. Online Adoption Application › Looking for a little dog who will keep you laughing every day? Pine might be your perfect match! Pine is a 4-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a small body. Full of love, fun, and endless tail wags, he's the kind of dog who quickly becomes everyone's best friend. Pine is wonderful in the home, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. While we don't know how he feels about cats, we do know he loves playing with his 78-pound Rottweiler foster sibling. Whether they're chasing balls, racing around with the zoomies, or curling up together for a nap afterward, Pine is always ready for fun. He's great on a leash and enjoys long walks, especially when he can follow every interesting scent along the way. At home, Pine believes every couch is made for napping and every lap is meant for cuddling. At bedtime, you'll find him snuggled up next to his teenage human. Pine also has a few favorite things: food, playtime, food, cuddling, and—did we mention—food? If you're looking for a loyal companion, a cuddle buddy, and a daily source of laughter, Pine is ready to fill your home with love. **************************************The adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.; All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
