Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed. A FRIENDLY & LOVING GUY: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 65 lbs. Hi, I’m Roadie! I was adopted from Mostly Mutts in 2021, but sadly my owner is ill and can no longer take care of me. Thankfully, I’m back with Mostly Mutts and hear that they are going to find me another wonderful home and family to love. I got to go for a spend-the-night with one of the volunteers and am now back at the shelter hanging out with the volunteers while I wait to find my new people. I've been selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience off-site and am learning a lot! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn’t quite ready to play, I also didn’t show any aggression. My former owner reported that I did like other dogs, and I was very respectful of the boundaries set by a Chihuahua for my spend-the-night, who just wanted to be left alone. So, if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / I met 4 kitty cats in the home I spent the night in and did well with them. All cats are different though, so I'm not sure how I would do with another kitty. / My former owner reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them. I also liked the 8-year-old boy that was at my spend-the-night home as well as the kids I met on my walks. I just have collar sensitivity and don’t like it grabbed, so kids old enough to understand that are best and no very young kids that I may accidentally bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m already becoming a shelter favorite and it’s easy to see why - I’m just the sweetest, friendliest boy with lots of tail wags, happy greetings, and a gentle nature. I’m also a super sweet cuddler who loves being with people and even likes to play little games of hide-and-seek. I ride well in the car and enjoy going along for adventures, making me a wonderful companion both at home and on the go. I’m just an all-around good dog who loves making people smile. My former owner reported that I could be a little anxious and possessive of treats as well as bolting through doors, so please watch for this as I settle into my new home. / Energy level: 6-8 as like being active and even having a job. I do like to chill once I’ve had a walk or played some ball. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! In the home I visited, I did not like having my collar grabbed or being made to get off the furniture – the trainers will be glad to help you with this, so you are set up for success. / My crate manners are good in the prison/foster training program. My former owner also reported that my crate manners are good. I didn’t need a crate in the home I visited. / I’ve had very good potty manners in all my home, shelter, and training program settings. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy going for walks, playing fetch, and relaxing with cozy blankets. I can get a little ball-obsessed when it's playtime! I never show any aggression, but I may go after the ball with such enthusiasm that I accidentally catch a finger instead. Just remind me to "drop it" and "wait," and I'll happily follow the rules of the game. While we're playing, you might hear some fun, friendly growls which are just my way of letting you know I'm having a great time! I’m also a fan of a little percussion music and apparently think drinking from a cup is pretty fun - lol! XL tennis balls and strong chew toys are best for me since I can chew up smaller tennis balls, and they could become a choking hazard. / I’m not a fan of nail trims, and as mentioned above, having my collar grabbed or being made to get off the furniture. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in with some patchy fur/skin issues and am getting medicated baths twice a week to help with this – the baths can easily be done in my new home as I’ve been very good for them at the shelter. I’m a wonderful pup looking for a wonderful family that will take great care of me and love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
