Description
Dog Breed: Dachshund / Pug / Mixed (short coat). Amber is a darling little dog who is estimated to be around 7 years old and weighs about 25 pounds. Her DNA shows her to be a mixture of Dachshund/Pug/Chihuahua/Pomeranian. This lovely girl was rescued from a high-kill shelter on her very last day, and since then she has shown everyone what an incredible, resilient, and loving companion she can be. Amber has a gentle, calm nature, but she also has a curious side and enjoys exploring the world around her. Amber gets along well with other dogs and truly enjoys spending time with people. Whether she's joining you for a leisurely walk or relaxing by your side at home, she's happiest being part of the family. She walks beautifully on a leash, has excellent house manners, and is house-trained. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a kind heart and a sweet disposition, Amber may be the perfect match. She's ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family who will love her as much as she deserves. To meet Amber please complete the application on our website, .greatpets. Breed overview
Overview:
The Daug, a delightful hybrid resulting from the cross between a Dachshund and a Pug, offers a unique blend of its charming parent breeds. Originating from designer breed programs aimed at combining desirable traits, the Daug typically inherits a compact, sturdy build, often with a slightly elongated body reminiscent of the Dachshund and the distinctive wrinkled face and curled tail of the Pug. Their coats vary but are generally short and easy to maintain. Temperamentally, Daugs are known for being affectionate, playful, and often quite clownish, making them excellent companions. They tend to be good with families, including children, and adapt well to apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs. However, like both parent breeds, they can be prone to certain health issues such as respiratory problems (brachycephalic syndrome from the Pug side) and back issues (intervertebral disc disease from the Dachshund side), requiring owners to be diligent about their care and regular veterinary check-ups.
