Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200. **Meet Jepoxferd!** This handsome Husky & German Shepherd mix is ready to find his forever home! Jepoxferd is an estimated 2 years old and is bursting with the kind of energy you'd expect from two of the most spirited breeds around. He is an absolute joy to be around — enthusiastic, lively, and always ready for the next adventure. While he brings the energy, he channels it in all the right ways and has never been destructive in the home. Jepoxferd will thrive with an active owner or family who loves the outdoors, long runs, hikes, or just an action-packed day in the backyard. A couch-potato household probably isn't the right fit, but if you live life on the go, he will match you stride for stride. The good news is he's not starting from zero — Jepoxferd already knows his basic commands and is a smart, eager-to-please pup who would absolutely flourish with continued training. He gets along beautifully with other pets and children, making him a wonderful candidate for a multi-pet household or a family setting. That said, just like his ideal owner, any animal companions in the home should be able to keep up with his enthusiastic pace — a laid-back or timid pet may find his energy a bit overwhelming. If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion to keep up with your active lifestyle, Jepoxferd just might be your perfect match. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
