Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). If you're looking for a best friend with a heart full of love, Shiloh might be your perfect match. This sweet boy is as kind as they come and has never met a stranger. A true social butterfly, Shiloh loves everyone he meets and is always happy to make a new friend. Shiloh is the kind of dog who makes life easy. He walks nicely on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and stays neutral around other dogs and distractions when out in public. Whether you're heading out for an adventure or running errands around town, he's happy to be by your side. When it comes to fun, Shiloh enjoys exploring the outdoors. He seems to love hiking and splashing around in the water, making him a great companion for anyone who enjoys spending time outside. At the end of the day, though, what Shiloh wants most is simple: a comfy couch and a person to cuddle up with. He has so much love to give and is ready to share it with a family or person of his own. Could Shiloh be the missing piece in your home? Come meet him and see just how special he is! To make an appointment, go to yoloshelter/dogs, or email adoptyoloshelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
