Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. This is a courtesy post for the owner of this dog. You will not be adopting from Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue. Please contact the owner directly through the contact info provided below. My name is Charlie. I am a 1.5 year old German Shepherd mix (born November 2024) and I weigh about 70 lbs. I love to play and am extremely affectionate. I am a little nervous meeting new people, but once I feel comfortable in a few minutes time, I warm up and just want to give and receive loving attention. I get along well with children and other dogs. Sadly, I need to find a new home because my current family is unable to give me the time and love I deserve due to changes in their lifestyle. They want me to find a family that has time to take me on adventures and give me cuddles at home and in turn, I will love them forever. I am housebroken, neutered and up to date on my vaccines and am ready to start a new life with a loving family. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please contact my current owner Lauren at laurenbaker09gmail.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
