Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Penny is a purebred Golden Retriever with a white gold color. We adopted her when she was a puppy and she's been nothing but sweet and loving. She'd rather be by your side than out playing. She's gentle and loyal, does well with kids, toddlers, and other pets. She is not food aggressive at all, very careful with your fingers and gentle when you feed her treats. She is crate trained and potty trained, and is happiest cuddling next to you. We are unfortunately needing to surrender her due to our recent human health complications and cost of surgeries for my husband and I, so we are not able to dedicate much time anymore to Penny as she deserves. Please give our sweet, gentle girl a loving home! She deserves the best and a loving forever family who will dote on her. **** Breed: Golden Retriever **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198372&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
