Dog Breed: English Bulldog (short coat). A5771471 Meet Carter , a 4-year-old English Bulldog who is the definition of squishy perfection! This gloriously chubby, wrinkly boy is just begging for all the hugs, kisses, and cheek-smooshing you can give - bulldog lovers, this is your dream come true. But Carter isn’t just a handsome face - he’s a hilarious, big-personality little guy who loves being the center of attention and making new friends wherever he goes. Outgoing and gregarious, he’s sure to be the life of the party on every neighborhood stroll. Carter is a big, bold boy who loves to jump up for affection, so he’d do best in an adult-only home or one with older kids who can handle his enthusiasm. With just a little guidance on his manners, this charming lowrider will bring endless joy and laughter to his forever family! Will that be with you? -4 year old brown and white English Bulldog -52 pound male - not yet neutered, which may need to be done upon adoption - but the shelter can likely help with this! -may also need the standard round of shots and preventatives, but the shelter can likely help with this too! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/22/26 as a stray -active for a bulldog - perfect companion for neighborhood strolls, especially if any local stores or cafes offer treats or pup cups (this sweetie looooves his treats!) -giant ham - such a funny little man that will absolutely be the center of attention -a classic dog about town -loves to jump up and solicit affection, but has loots of enthusiasm - perhaps too much enthusiasm for little ones to handle, but totally fine for adults and even bigger kids -just an all around happy go lucky boy that will light up your life each and every day! Overview:
The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
