Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). A5766933 Say hello to Monique , a 1-year-old pittie girl who is the definition of a perfect little couch hippo! With her short, stocky build, stunning blue-grey coat, and that irresistible grin, she’s as gorgeous as she is lovable. This amazing girl has the sweetest, gentlest soul - she just wants to relax by your side, soak up affection, and share her endless kindness and joy. Monique walks beautifully on leash, is potty trained, knows basic commands like sit and stay, and after a nice stroll, she’ll happily cover you in kisses. Don’t let her size fool you - she’s a total lap dog who lives for cuddles and pets! She would be a fantastic match for a first-time pup owner, as long as she can be your one and only queen of the castle with no other dogs. Come take home this superstar today! -1 year 1 month old grey and white Pitbull -71 pound spayed female -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/2/26 as a stray -this girl is absolutely AMAZING - incredibly sweet, just wants to chill and hang out, soaking up all the love -good on leash, potty trained, calm and lower energy, and knows basic commands like sit and stay -perfect for a first time pet owner, but only as the solo dog please! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
