After finding himself on the Texas euthanasia list alongside his sisters Lilo and Nani, Stitch is now learning that the world can be a little less scary than he thought. While Lilo has been the braver sibling so far, Stitch tends to hang back and look to her for reassurance. He’s very timid, extremely submissive, and currently piddles in fear when being picked up or taken out of his kennel. Everything is still new and overwhelming for him, but despite that, he is incredibly sweet and gentle. He loves to wrestle and play with his sister once he starts to feel comfortable, and he’s slowly learning from the confident dogs in his foster home. For their very first night, the puppies did amazing — sleeping almost through the night with no messes. Right now Stitch just needs patience, kindness, and time to realize he’s finally safe. Somewhere under those giant ears and worried little eyes is a puppy who’s ready to blossom once he learns to trust. Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc. Is an all foster based 501c3 rescue. License #487823. Meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. An approved application does not mean you must adopt the dog of interest, if it isn't a good fit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
