Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Kirby is a four and a half year old black lab mix with lots of energy and lots of love to give. He is great with kids, loves to play with other dogs, and according to his sitter, gets along with cats as well. Kirby has separation anxiety so he would do best with a family that is home a lot and has either kids, other dogs, or both. Owners with experience and a yard are preferred. Kirby is very smart, super playful, and has a really funny personality. He also loves to cuddle and will become your shadow. He is house trained, but has accidents due to his separation anxiety (a house with a yard he can go in often would likely help this). He is neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines. Kirby is the sweetest pup who deserves the best and I want to find a family that will meet his needs and love him. **** Breed: Black lab mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198404&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
