Description

Dog Breed: English Bulldog (short coat). Meet Berle! At just 7 months old, this handsome little chunk could be every bulldog lover’s dream pup. But behind that adorable face is a boy who will absolutely keep you on your toes. Berle came to us as a newborn with a cleft palate and had to grow up without a mama dog to help teach him manners and boundaries, so he’s learned how to charm his way into just about everything. He is incredibly smart, full of personality, and definitely knows how to test limits with his goofy bulldog shenanigans. Berle will be having his palate repaired in just a few days and once he’s healed, he’ll officially begin searching for his forever family. He’s a fun, spunky, playful little guy who loves other dogs and does well with cats too. Because he can be protective over things he considers “his,” we think he would do best in a home with older children and with someone who has experience with bulldogs or other strong-willed breeds. Like many brachycephalic dogs, Berle is not tolerant of heat and will need a family who understands the special care these squishy-faced pups require. In return, you’ll get endless laughs, bulldog sass, and a loyal best friend who will keep life entertaining every single day. You must be over 21 to apply and live within 2 hours of Lehigh Valley, PA in NJ or PA only (please do not ask for exceptions). Visit our website to apply: Outcast Rescue PA Kennel License 16187

Overview:

The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
