This 3year old neutered male Shepherd mix was found as a stray in a condition no living creature should ever endure — skeletal, dehydrated, collapsing, and so infested with fleas, ticks, and parasites that his body was shutting down. Rescuers had to look twice to be sure he was still breathing. And yet… when they reached for him, Gabriel lifted his head. When they spoke softly, he wagged his tail. When they touched him gently, he leaned in. Even after everything, this boy chose love. He is wonderful with every human and every animal, including cats, moving through the world with quiet sweetness. He walks beautifully on a leash, is fully potty trained, and knows his basic commands — and he’s already learning more because he’s such a fast, eager learner. At home, Gabriel is a dream. He adores his bed, sleeps soundly through the night, and has proven himself trustworthy when left alone, never chewing or getting into anything. He gives the warmest, most heartfelt cuddles, the kind that make you feel chosen. He loves car rides too — he hops in, curls up, and falls asleep for the entire trip. Nothing rattles him — roombas, lawnmowers, even train whistles just roll right off him.The only things that still worry him are crates and being left completely alone, understandable for a dog who has survived so much abandonment.
