Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Meet Kona — our beautiful 6-year-old purebred Cocker Spaniel looking for a loving new home. ❤️ Kona is about 23 pounds, healthy, affectionate, gentle, and incredibly loving with people. She loves cuddling, being close to her family, and simply being part of everyday life. She is smart, eager to please, and already knows commands like sit, stay, and “pray.” Due to unexpected changes in our family’s housing and schedule, we are heartbroken to be looking for the right new home for her. This decision has not been made lightly. Kona would likely do best as the only pet in the home where she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself. She has done fine with familiar small dogs but generally prefers having her own space. She is a wonderful companion with so much love to give and still has many happy years ahead of her. We are committed to finding her a stable, loving home where she will be cherished as part of the family. She will come with all of her supplies including her bed, crate, food, leashes, toys, and more. A reasonable rehoming fee will apply to ensure a safe and committed home. Please message me if you think you may be a good fit and tell me a little about your home and lifestyle. **** Breed: Cocker spaniel **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198649&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
