Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. This is Junie, a 20lb, 4 year old Chihuahua mix who is in need of a loving home with no kids or other pets. Her owner is needing to unfortunately rehome her due to her having issues with another dog in her current home and needing a fresh start. She is always down for cuddles, a nice run, some treats (she loves peanut butter) playing with toys and belly rubs. She will be your best friend and love you with all her heart. She is a great single person dog for someone who has more time and attention to give her due to her being anxious and needing more space to roam than currently available. She is up to date on all vaccines through March of 2027, spayed and has graduated beginner training at Petsmart. **** Breed: Chihuahua Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198666&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
