Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Lilith, the black and white pittie mix! Lilithâs previous guardian was being evicted, forcing them to surrender Lilith and her other dog companion (who has since been adopted). Lilith has lived in a home with children under the age of 12, teenagers, men and women. Her favorite activities in the previous home were playing with other dogs and playing fetch. Lilith knows âsitâ (provided she gets a treat after as a reward) and would love to bond with her new family through positive reinforcement based training. While her family was at work, Lilith would hang out inside the house for 40hrs a week, saving her energy and love to smother them in kisses when they got home from work. A volunteer took her on a sleepover and reports: âShe is hands down the most loving and affectionate dog that I have ever met. She sure has a good amount of energy, but she chills out after a walk. Lilith would benefit from an active household where she can get her sillies out before crashing out oil the couch. Lilith would love to be a part of her forever familyâs activities and snuggle time. Her high energy and borderline excessive licking might overwhelm some people, but I think she just expresses her love very exuberantly. She did well on leash and did not pull with the harness on, but it was somewhat tough to get the harness on due to her excitement. Overall, she is a lovely, cuddly girl who needs some dedicated exercise and mental stimulation to thrive.â Lilith's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation's Leave No One Behind fund - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards animals that have been waiting a little bit longer than average for the right adopters to come along and bring them home. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
