Description

Dog Breed: Cocker Spaniel. Meet Milkshake, a 4-year-old, 24-pound mix of Corgi and Spaniel with a terrific temperament! She’s super sweet, friendly, curious, shy, dog friendly and loves to be held. She’s what we call a “low rider,” meaning her legs are short, and so she’s close to the ground. Milkshake has been treated for heartworm and is now waiting for her forever home with you! A truly delightful girl. (posted 6/1/26, ME) " " " "Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $170.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **

Overview:

The Cocker Spaniel, a beloved breed with roots in the United Kingdom, was originally bred as a gundog to flush out woodcock. They are instantly recognizable by their medium size, typically weighing 20-30 pounds, their luxurious, often wavy coat (which comes in a variety of colors), and their long, expressive ears that frame their gentle, eager-to-please eyes. Known for their merry and affectionate temperament, Cockers are generally good-natured, intelligent, and relatively easy to train, making them an excellent choice for families with children and even first-time dog owners. While adaptable, their moderate exercise needs can be met with daily walks and playtime, making them suitable for apartment living as long as they receive sufficient mental and physical stimulation. Prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including ear infections (due to their long ears), eye conditions like cataracts, and hip dysplasia, which highlight the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
