Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. SWEET, ACTIVE & FUN: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 9 lbs. Hi, I’m Cassius! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me – they are so much fun to hang out with! Now I hear that I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my very own, where I can love and be loved furever! I hope to meet them very soon and charm them with my cuteness! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts that were around my size and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me as I’m very small. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a happy, friendly guy who’s full of curiosity, energy, and fun! I love sniffing around to see what’s going on and am always ready for my next adventure. Everyone says I’m very sweet and friendly, and I’m told I’m pretty cute, too! Despite my active nature, I was wonderful for my bath – calm, relaxed, and completely unfazed by the whole experience. With my cheerful personality and love for life, I’m sure to keep my family smiling. / Energy level: 5-7, so for a little dog, I like being active. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love toys, people, and just about anything that involves having fun! Playing, being active, spending time with my family, and enjoying all the good things life has to offer are some of my favorite ways to spend the day. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and that has been done for me now, so my mouth is fresh again! I’m a fun-loving wonderful pup looking for a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
