Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. *Name: Cosmo *Age: 5.5 years old *Adoption fee: $400 (*sponsored*) Meet Cosmo! We rescued Cosmo from a very overcrowded shelter in Louisana. Cosmo is an absolute goofball, with a permanent smile on his face. An energetic and happy boy, Cosmo is down for anything and everything as long as he's with his humans. Like to take long walks or go for a run? He’s in! Prefer to chill out and watch a movie? This guy is a wonderful companion and he'll gladly take as many belly rubs and snuggles as you're happy to give. Cosmo has already completed a 5 week obedience training class and loves to show off his new moves, especially when there is a yummy treat involved. While Cosmo has yet to meet someone he doesn't like, he is a bit of an attention hog and would prefer to keep the love all to himself. Cosmo will do best in a home where he can be the only dog and in a family with older children and humans who can give him all the love, patience, and attention he truly deserves. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
