Hi everyone! I’m Little Nova- A supersonic sweetie pie of particle scale. I’m a 30 pound, 7 year old Shar Pei Pittie mix with a squishy face, a purple tongue, and a gravitational force that pulls everyone around me into my orbit. I have a light-year’s worth of amazing credentials but here are a few to get you started: I’m house trained and crate trained, but I’m a trustworthy girly with great house manners so I can be left out in the house while you’re gone. I get along great with other dogs and love to play with dogs around my size, and I love people (women and children are my favorite but I warm up to men super fast after a treat or two). I haven’t met a cat yet, but I do well with chickens. I love to go for walks (you should see the little dance I do when it’s walk time!). I'm great on a leash and my recall is rocketing toward perfection. I’m a big snuggler and will gravitate to you like an asteroid to a planet. Everyone who meets me loves me and my radiant personality and squishy face. When lots of people are around, I like to rotate from person to person to get as much love and attention as I can, which is easy to do because I’m so cute and my fur is velvety soft so everyone wants to pet me. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
