Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 410.00. THEO Male 9 months old Pit Bull Terrier 40 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with kids, cats and dogs Theo believes that personal space is highly overrated. Need to use the bathroom? He's coming. Making coffee? He's right there to collect his whipped cream tax. Taking a nap? Perfect, because he was planning to join you anyway. If you've always wanted a loyal sidekick, Theo is ready to start immediately. Be sure to hide your slippers because he loves to steal them and hide under the closest table to chew up the fur. Theo's perfect day starts off with morning snuggles after he wakes up in his crate. Then it's outside to do his business. He's so, so easy on the leash. Here's the key to Theo, if he's pulling hard on the leash that means he is on a mission to do his business. When the business is done, he happily walks right beside you constantly checking in to make sure he's doing a good job. He does not pull or react to other dogs or people passing by. He quietly observes. Then its breakfast time. He LOVES food. He patiently waits to be fed. He will sit quietly until his food bowl is set down. If you take too long, he will lay down and huff. Then it's nap time to let his food settle. After nap time is more snuggles. He LOVES to just put his head on your shoulders and crawl into your lap. Mid-morning play time consists of playing fetch with two different soccer balls. One that has tags on it and the other is a stuffed soccer ball with two handles. He's not much of a tug-of-war type guy; he's more of a fetcher. Then it's laying by his humans for the afternoon. Long walks aren't his favorite yet; he prefers to lay in the shade and just observe the world around him. Dinner time is his favorite too (Loves food). He is so easy going and go with the flow. Whatever his humans want to do he's ready. He's also great in the car. He loves to explore new places and will gladly take pets and snuggles from anyone willing to give them. Interested in adopting? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
