Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 410.00. THEO (watch my video!) Male, neutered 10 months old Pit Bull Terrier 40 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with kids, cats and dogs Theo believes that personal space is highly overrated. Need to use the bathroom? He’s coming. Making coffee? He’s right there to collect his whipped cream tax. Taking a nap? Perfect, because he was already planning to join you anyway. If you’ve always wanted a loyal sidekick, Theo is ready to start immediately! Theo is young dog who truly has no idea how big he is. In his mind, he’s still a tiny puppy who belongs in your lap, and honestly… he’s pretty convincing. He’s the perfect mix of goofy, affectionate, and playful. Be sure to hide your slippers because they might become a bartering tool — or a chew toy! Theo’s days are filled with the things he loves most: snuggles, food, fetch, hiking and spending time with his people. He is fantastic on leash once he takes care of business and happily walks right beside you, checking in to make sure he’s doing a good job (which, of course, he is!). He quietly observes the world around him and doesn’t react to passing dogs or people. Theo LOVES food and politely waits for his meals (although he may give you a dramatic huff if breakfast takes too long!). After playtime and snacks, he’s ready for his favorite activity — snuggles. Theo loves putting his head on your shoulder, curling up beside you, and reminding you that he is, in fact, the perfect cuddle buddy. And then there’s pool time! Theo is convinced he was born to swim. He thinks he’s part frog, part fish, and maybe part professional swimmer. He loves splashing around, playing swim fetch, and having fun with his doggy friends in the water. If you’re not a pool person, that’s okay too — Theo is happy going on hikes, long walks, errands, or just taking a car ride with his favorite people. Theo loves playing with furry siblings and has even learned how to respectfully coexist with kitties. Kids are also a bonus because Theo thinks they make the best built-in playmates. Theo is playful, easygoing, adaptable, and truly goes with the flow. Whether it’s an adventure or a quiet day at home, he just wants to be right beside his people. Looking for your new best friend? Stop right here — you found him! Theo is ready to fill your life with love, laughter, adventures, a little bit of puppy antics and plenty of snuggles. Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
