Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Meet Korah! Korah is a tiny 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier weighing just 5 pounds, and she is ready to find the loving forever home she deserves. This sweet little girl has been through a lot. Korah was found abandoned in some bushes, scared and alone. When she came into rescue, it was evident that she had recently had puppies, leading us to believe she may have been used for breeding and then discarded when she was no longer wanted. Despite her difficult past, Korah is slowly learning that people can be kind and that she is finally safe. Korah is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is puppy pad trained and is working on learning to potty outside, but because of her tiny size, she cannot be left outside unattended. She will need a family committed to helping her continue building confidence and learning her routine. Korah can be a little skittish at first and needs some time and patience to warm up to new people. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality begins to shine. Because of her small size and timid nature, she would do best in a home with older children or with a retired person or couple who can give her the time, love, and reassurance she needs. Korah has spent her life taking care of others. Now it’s her turn to be cherished, spoiled, and loved for the rest of her life. If you think Korah could be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application at .kpprescue.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
