Rhythm is Looking For: Rhythm and her sister Raya have loved growing up together but now they're ready to split up and get their own homes! Rhythm is at the tail end of puppyhood - she's got all that awesome young dog energy and wants to play and explore and then snuggle after a fun day together. Making pup pals is high on her wish list as well - and she'd also like to go to dog school, to learn all about being the bestest girl! (Shelter staff say she is happy and confident on leash - she's already well on her way!) Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to always be safe and loved. In exchange she promises loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her by your side? Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
