Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Toy) (medium coat). My names Kiko! I'm a poodle with a mind of my own. I like doing things my way and am perfectly happy exploring the world at my own pace. While I enjoy spending time with my people, Iâm also pretty independent and donât mind entertaining myself when thereâs something interesting to investigate. One thing you should know about me: I never say no to a good treat. I also love going for walks, whether itâs a quick stroll around the neighborhood or a longer adventure where I can take in all the sights and smells. Meeting other dogs is one of my favorite parts of being out and about. I enjoy making new canine friends, exchanging a few sniffs, and seeing whoâs around. Overall, Iâm a easygoing poodle who enjoys my independence, appreciates a tasty snack, and is happiest when Iâm out exploring the world one walk at a time.

Overview:
The Toy Poodle is a captivating and intelligent breed, originating in Germany as a water retriever before being miniaturized in France. Physically, they are known for their distinctive, dense, and curly single-layer coat, which is virtually non-shedding, making them a popular choice for individuals with allergies. They possess an elegant, well-proportioned build, bright, dark eyes, and a proud, confident gait. In terms of temperament, Toy Poodles are remarkably smart, alert, and highly trainable, eager to please their owners. They thrive on companionship and mental stimulation, often excelling in canine sports like obedience and agility. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for various living situations, including apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental engagement. They are generally good with respectful children and can integrate well into families. While generally robust, like many purebreds, they can be predisposed to certain health conditions such as patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and Addison's disease, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
