Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). This mini powerhouse is just so sweet and is overall quite gentle, but when she gets comfortable with a person, her playful side will come out and squeaky toys are fair game. She's approx 5 yrs old, and clearly has been through some unkind moments in her life, but is still open to friendship and new experiences. It takes her abeat to feel safe, but when she does she becomes a friend for life. During her time at the shelter, she's gotten a little barky (if everyone else isdoing it ..... ) but is very friendly and gentle. She's going to need a forever home that is patient, understanding, fun loving and 1000% committed to giving her the best life possible for her life time. She'll appreciate some adventure in life- joining her people in their daily life and an occasional coffee shop sit and watch session, but will also love a regular routine of dinner time and tvwatching on the couch. If it sounds like you're the right fit- head into burbankanimalshelter and meet her for yourself today.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
