This soft-natured girl hasn't shown interest in toys, tennis balls, or splash sessions in the pool to be happy. What Gabriella loves most is people. If given the choice between chasing a toy or sitting beside you, she'll choose you every time. Out on walks, Gabriella is an easy and gentle companion. She moves through the world with a calm, sweet presence, happy to stay close to her person. In the sunlight, the beautiful brown tones in her coat shine, matching the warmth in her gentle eyes. Gabriella knows `sit` and `paw,` takes treats with the softest touch, and is always eager to share quiet moments with the people she loves. Her greatest joy seems to be connection. She doesn't just enjoy affection—she seeks it out, wanting to stay close and be part of whatever you're doing. Life at the shelter can be hard for a dog who loves companionship as much as Gabriella does. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
