Nala is a rolly-poly bundle of love who bonds deeply with her people and is always ready for cuddles, playtime, and adventures. Nala does well with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. She is very submissive around other dogs and can be a little intimidated by larger ones, so she would benefit from a home committed to continuing her socialization and helping her build confidence through positive experiences and exposure to the world around her. This sweet girl is also just a tiny bit dramatic. If something startles her, she may act like the world is ending for a moment before quickly realizing everything is perfectly fine. Despite her occasional theatrics, Nala is a curious and observant puppy who enjoys taking in everything happening around her and watching the world go by. Because Nala forms strong attachments to her people, we'd love to see her continue meeting a variety of people both inside and outside the home. This will help her grow into a confident, well-rounded adult and prevent her from becoming overly possessive of her favorite humans. Nala does pretty well on a leash for a puppy, though she is still learning and will need continued practice. She also rides nicely in the car—once she accepts that riding on the driver's lap is no longer an option because she's getting a little too big for that job. As with any young puppy, Nala is still learning the ropes. She is not yet potty trained and is still working on kennel training, so her future family should be prepared for all the fun (and occasional chaos!) that comes with raising a puppy. If you're looking for a squishy little sidekick with a big heart, a curious mind, and an award-winning pout, Nala might just be your perfect match.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
