Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). My name is Belle, My journey started in a Texas shelter, where my future was uncertain. Thankfully, Belle was given a second chance, and is now searching for the one thing I've always wantedâa loving family to call my own.Iâm a happy-go-lucky young pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! I adore people, make friends wherever I go, and am always ready for my next adventure. Whether it's going for a walk, playing in the yard, exploring new places, or curling up for some well-earned cuddles.I've lived successfully in a foster home with another dog and have shown that I can be a wonderful companion. Like any young dog, I have plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life, but I'm also eager to learn. I've been working hard on my training and puppy manners, and everyone says I'm doing a great job! With a little guidance, consistency, and love, I'm going to make an incredible lifelong companion.What I'm really looking for is a family that will see the amazing dog I am and help me continue to grow into my very best self. If you have another dog at home, please plan to bring them for a meet-and-greet before completing the adoption. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
